The Admission Modalities are with reference to the fulltime B.Tech, B Tech (L),BBA, BCA, BCA-MCA Integrated, B Com, BA English(Hons.), MBA, MBA(Rural Management), MBA(Healthcare Management),M.A(English), M.Lib.I.Sc Integrated, LLM MA(Edu),M.Sc.(Mathematics), M Sc Physics, M Sc Chemistry, MCA, MCA(LE), B Sc Physics (Hons) , B Sc Chemistry (Hons), B Sc Mathematics (Hons), B Sc in Emergency Medical Technology, BSc in Cardiac Care Technology, B Sc in Dialysis Therapy Technology,Allied Health Sciences, & PGDY programs offered by the ICFAI University Tripura. The medium of instruction is English.

Eligibility Criteria

Final year students who have not received the original certificates from the Universities/Boards by July 24, 2019 will be admitted provisionally. Their admission will be confirmed subject to their passing the qualifying examination and obtaining minimum required marks mentioned above. The registration of the applicants not meeting the eligibility criteria by September 28, 2019 will be cancelled. In such cases, admission fee will be forfeited and only 50% of the semester fee will be refunded after notifying the cancellation of the seat by the University.

Admission Criteria

The selection of applicants for all programs is made through application and interview. While evaluating applicants for admission, due weightage is given to academic distinction, awards in sports/cultural events, debates, quizzes and other extra co-curricular activities.

Interview

The applicants will have to go through a personal interview at the campus. This is to determine the applicants' attitude and motivation to pursue the program. Original certificates and Domicile certificate should be produced for verification at the time of interview. The original certificates will be returned after verification. The admission decision will be communicated after the interview process. All the selected applicants will be required to pay the admission fee after selection.

Remittance

All payments should be made by way of demand draft drawn in favour of "The ICFAI University, Tripura - Fee Collection A/c" payable at Agartala, Tripura.

Students may participate in seminars on management/information technology topics and make presentations of the same in class. These are done under the guidance of the faculty and will hone the reading, summarizing and presentation skills of the students apart from inculcating the reading habit in students.

Guest Lectures
Guest lectures play an important role in the developmental process of the students. Eminent academicians and practising professionals are invited for guest lectures where students get an opportunity to interact closely with them and understand the practical applications of various management and information technology concepts and ideas. Through these activities, students get acquainted with leadership roles, develop group and interpersonal skills and develop the right kind of attitude for success in their careers.

Foreign nationals desirous of coming to India are required to possess a valid passport of their country and a valid Indian Visa. The only exceptions are nationals of Nepal and Bhutan who can enter India without a Visa. (Note: Nepalese nationals need a Visa if entering India from China).

To study in India, it is mandatory for an international student to procure an Indian Student Visa.

Applicant need to mention the name of the Institute while applying for the Visa, which is then mentioned on the Visa.

International students taking admission at ICFAI University should make sure that the Student Visa is endorsed to the ICFAI University by the Visa issuing authority.

A request for change of university or institution subsequently made cannot be considered. In this case you would be required to go back to your home country and apply for a fresh Visa. Also, if you have entered India on the basis of documents provided by the university then it is your responsibility to ensure that you directly join and report to the university. The Visa endorsed on the name of the university or obtained on the basis of university documents cannot be used for any other purpose like employment, admission to any other University/college/institute/academy etc or for non-regular (distance/online) mode of education.

If the student is not able to complete the program in stipulated time, then the student should apply for the extension of the Visa before Visa expires.

Students are advised to apply for the Indian Visa well in advance. Normally, it takes 3-8 weeks to obtain Indian Visa. Students can contact the Indian High Commission/Embassy if required.

Definition of Foreign Students
All foreign nationals who do not hold an Indian Passport can apply for admission to any of the programs offered by ICFAI Universities located across India. Foreign nationals of Indian origin, i.e., if they hold PIO (People of Indian Origin) or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) documentation, are also welcome to apply under this category. Indian Passport holders residing abroad (NRIs) or wards / relatives of NRIs studying in India are also welcome to apply under this category.

Are the degrees awarded by ICFAI University recognized Internationally?
Yes. The degrees awarded by the University are recognized all over the world. Several students of ICFAI University are pursuing higher education overseas.

Is it necessary to have work experience to apply for ICFAI University programs?
No, Work Experience is not mandatory for applying to Programs of the universities. However work experience will be an added qualification.

What is the Selection Procedure for Admission?
The process of selecting international applicants is on a rolling basis until one month before the commencement of the program. In this process, profile of candidates will be assessed as and when the applications are submitted. Candidates are assessed on the basis of their intellectual readiness (academics) and also on emotional readiness. Emotional readiness includes work experience, extra curricular activities and aptitude for and befitting the institution’s mission of value based leadership. The benefit of this process is that students will not have to wait for a long time after applying. Hence, we request the candidates to apply as soon as they are ready. This would help accelerate the entire selection process.

Fluency in English
Although we do not require an entrance exam test for English proficiency, we expect our applicants to be proficient in both written and spoken English. All teaching is conducted in English ONLY. We will not be able to assist with English coaching once you have registered on the course. Several Soft skill courses are inbuilt within the program structure.

How do I apply for admission?
Applicants can download the application form for foreign nations from the respective University websites.

The above fee covers only tuition fee, does not cover the hostel, food and medical expenses. The above fee has to be paid in installments at the beginning of each semester.

In addition to the above, students have to pay admission fee and refundable caution deposit as stipulated.

Do the fee required to be paid only in US$ even if our country has a bilateral trade agreement with India in Indian Rupees ?
No. You can pay INR (Indian Rupees) as well. It is not mandatory in pay the fee in US$ only. In case, your country permits transfer of fee in Indian Rupees, the same can be paid in Indian Rupees at the prevailing exchange rate between US$ and Indian Rupee on the date of payment.

Accommodation

Hostel Accommodation?
All foreign students would be assisted in getting accommodation on / or near the campus.

What are monthly expenses for accommodation and food?
Students require about USD 1000 - 1200 per semester towards hostel accommodation and food depending the location.

Can we come to study at ICFAI with our family?
No, since the programs are residential as there is no family accommodation.

Can I work during my studies?
No, We offer full time programs and the same are very intensive and academically rigorous.

Insurance

Is Medical Insurance Required?
Yes, Medical Insurance is mandatory.

The University issues a ‘Provisional Admission Letter’ after scrutiny of the applications for eligibility, for the purpose of obtaining from Indian Consulate/Embassy a ‘Student Visa’ endorsed to University without which no admission can be made. After obtaining the Student Visa endorsed to University, the students must report for ‘Final Admission’ along with Original Certificates and tuition fee as stipulated in the course-wise fee details to the respective faculties at respective University.

After fulfilling the admission process, student should take a bonafide certificate issued by the University and obtain residential permit in the respective cities within 14 days of their arrival in India.

Foreign citizens of Indian Origin can either come with a PIO (People of Indian Origin) or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card to study in India. Such students need not apply for a student visa to study In India. However, a PIO/OCI card holder will have to register with the FRO as his/ her stay in India will be over 180 days. Please ensure that all other passport and visa rules are checked by you before you seek admission at respective ICFAI University, India.

The University arranges unpaid internship to students as per the program requirement during semester break.

Final placement is not the responsibility of the university as it involves the visa regulations.
