Faculty of Science & Technology (FST), a constituent unit of the ICFAI University, Tripura (IUT). FST is committed to provide quality education in the field of science and technology. It helps the students develop professional competence through their exposure to labs and workshops and industry exposure through internships / projects in industry.
Academic Flexibilities Several academic flexibilities are allowed by the ICFAI University, Tripura in the educational process. The decision regarding flexibilities is generally guided by the principle of merit, preference of the student and the facilities available. Any academic flexibility that a student opts for, must be selected at the time of registration for the semester. Resources and Facilities
A competent and committed faculty team is in place. Most of the faculty members hold Ph.D. degrees while the others have Post Graduate Degrees and good teaching and industrial experience.
Several steps are taken to ensure quality education. These include interactive teaching, continuous multiple criteria evaluation, and feedback from students. The faculty members bring their extensive knowledge, professional experience, and advanced education to their task. The faculty are drawn from industry, leading institutions, practicing professionals, and academicians to enhance the quality of academic delivery.
The academic structure of the program provides students with an opportunity to choose a minimum of six elective courses on their own, from across all the courses offered by the Faculty of Science and Technology. Through the elective courses, the students may fulfill their ambitions of either gaining knowledge in fields other than their own discipline, or of gaining higher knowledge in their own field of specialization. Further, over and above the prescribed number of electives, students can also take a maximum number of four Optional Electives on their own.
Repetition of Courses
Students who are yet to complete the program are permitted to repeat a course if they want to improve their grades, provided the course is offered during the semester. semester.
The structure allows transfer of students from one program to another, at an appropriate time.
ICFAI University, Tripura Campus has well-stocked library containing reference material, and Indian and international books and magazines. Subscriptions to industry information databases ensure that extensive research resources and publications with search facilities are available to students and faculty. In addition, the library contain directories, industry reports, and statistical compilations that provide timely and concise information for project work. The library facilities are open to all students and faculty members and are continuously updated with the latest books and journals.
The latest hardware and software infrastructure is in place to cater to the computing needs of all the students and the training requirements of computer science related programs. The computer labs are equipped with powerful servers and multiple terminals with multiple operating systems. The students are guided by well-experienced faculty members in the computer labs where High Speed Internet access is available to the students and faculty through leased lines.
It is essential that students joining the B.Tech. Program need to have their own laptop computers during the study period, since computers are extensively used as part of the curriculum at Faculty of Science and Technology. Hence it is mandatory that students make their own arrangements to buy the same, when they join the program. the program.

Department of Civil Engineering
ICFAI University Tripura started 4 year B.Tech, Civil Engineering program from 2008 under Faculty of Science & Technology, comprises of required infrastructure and highly qualified faculty members as per UGC norm. Later on University started B.Tech, Civil Engineering Lateral entry from 2013. Entire B.Tech Civil Engineering program running with well structured course curricula followed by prerequisite and bridge courses to enrich the professional knowledge of Civil Engineering. Civil Engineering department also emphasis on practical works, Special Project and Internship Program in various Industry so that students can get an exposure for work in practical field and establish their career. Department conduct various type of special classes for interested students for GATE and others competitive examination.
The educational objectives for Civil Engineering program are designed to produce competent engineers who are ready to contribute effectively to the advancement of civil engineering causes and to accommodate the needs of the community. These objectives are as follows:
- To provide students with the fundamental technical knowledge and skills in mathematics, science and engineering to recognize and solve problems in the areas of structural design, geo-technical and environmental engineering.
- To provide students with the necessary skills and practical experience to fulfill their professional duties and responsibilities in teamwork, ethics, technical leadership, business acumen and lifelong learning.
- To make the students be in a position to practice professionally in various positions in industry or government and succeed in graduate or other professional schools.

Department of Mechanical Engineering
The Mechanical Engineering Department is one of the oldest and finest Departments in the region. The workshops of the Department contain highly sophisticated machines presenting a unique quality. Various research & development activities undertaken by the Department nurture the young talents especially from the North Eastern states and also from other states of India, enabling them to blend to the modern industry requirements. The department is continuously striving to achieve excellence in education, academic and industry oriented research as well as consultancy work with service to the society. We aim to provide our students with a perfect blend of intellectual and practical experiences that helps them to serve our society and address a variety of needs. At the end of our program, students are prepared for entry level work as a mechanical engineer as well as for the post-graduate study in mechanical engineering or in another discipline at various reputed institutions. Academic course work, Internship Progam and projects are designed to endow students with the ability to apply knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering, and the capability to work effectively in multidisciplinary terms, providing leadership and technical expertise.

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
The branch of engineering that deals with both Electricity and the science of controlling it i.e. Electronics is Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). In this branch, students study different aspects of Electricity and Electronics along with their numerous applications. The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2014 for B.Tech programme. The Department also offers B.Tech Lateral Entry programme from the academic year 2015-2016. The department has made significant growth in terms of infrastructural and academic standards on par with other premier institutions in India. The department has well experienced faculty members with Ph.D and M.Tech qualifications. The department has fully equipped laboratories/licensed softwares as listed below for UG Programmes to impart practical knowledge to students who can take up any assignment after their graduation.
To carry out the studies in advanced field of both Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering, and also to take up in-house projects, well qualified and dedicated faculty members who are instrumental in building the career of the students are available in the department. The department as a part of the Faculty of Science & Technology periodically organizes and remains associated with National/International conferences, seminars/Symposia, workshops and arrange guest lectures by external faculty for the benefit of the students and faculty as well. The department periodically conducts Technical Seminar/Quizzes, remedial classes for the slow learners and also Communication Skills development classes for the benefit of Students. Faculty members are actively involved in research and academic developmental / consultancy activities. The faculty takes keen interest in attending summer / winter schools / workshops / conferences to acquire the technical knowledge about the latest technical developments in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and published/presented Research papers in various reputed journals/conferences. The management has keen interest to promote quality education and provide financial assistance to faculty members for attending seminars / workshops etc. The Department conducts industrial tours/visits in every year and visits to various industries and power houses for students are arranged as part of their curriculum. Major and Minor research projects are in the pipe line to be submitted to UGC in the current academic year 2018-19 for getting financial assistance.

Introduction about the Department: The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was started in the year of 2004. Till then the Department is producing excellent graduates and able to provide job opportunities for them in reputed private and public sectors. The department also encourage students for higher studies in renowned institutions. The well equipped laboratories of the department provide amongst students very good practical experience. All the faculties are highly qualified and industrially trained having more than eight years of teaching experience.
