Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM)

About the Program

Health services have evolved since independence and trained nurses' midwife have been posted in hospitals or PHU (Primary Health Units). Thereafter village level female health workers also served as a bridge between the community and the health services. In the present scenario ANM serves not only as a nurse and midwife but also as mul¬tipurpose health personnel. They provide multifaceted health services like immunization, sanitization, infectious diseases or prevention for care and antenatal/ delivery care services and family planning.
