Is ICFAI University, Tripura recognized by UGC?
|

Yes. The ICFAI University, Tripura was established in 2004 through an Act of State Legislature (Tripura Act 8 of 2004). The University has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.

Yes. The university has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls in its 32 acre campus.

can I apply for admission for a master’s degree program in a Foreign University?

Yes. The degree is awarded by Icfai University, Tripura, which is recognised by UGC. All international/foreign Universities which recognise the degrees of UGC approved Universities also recognise the degrees awarded by Icfai University.
The University is a member of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi and the Association of Commonwealth Universities, London.

What are the benefits of being a member of AIU and ACU?
|
|
The AIU evaluates and grants equivalence of degrees and diplomas awarded by the accredited universities in India and abroad. It provides expert assistance on the status of foreign qualification to the students, universities, central and state agencies including ministries of Government of India.
The ACU provides its members an opportunity for bonafide institution approved by their respective governments to offer a range of higher education qualifications, to promote themselves and advertise their courses and research opportunities.

Does the University have qualified and trained faculty?
|
|
Yes. The University plays a significant role in ensuring quality education through an interactive teaching methodology by its experienced and trained faculty. The faculties bring their extensive knowledge, professional experience and advanced education to their tasks at the University. The faculty members have very good academic background from leading institutions. The Faculty of Science and Technology has staff from leading institutions such as IITs and NITs having sound conceptual knowledge in their respective disciplines. They are practising professionals and academicians drawn from the industry and leading institutions.

MBA Program

Does the MBA Program have AICTE approval?
|
|
As per the Supreme Court Judgment given in Bharathidasan University Vs AICTE Case, the Programs run by a university do not require AICTE approval. Only institutes and colleges affiliated to a University are required to take the AICTE approval to run the MBA Program.
The MBA Program is directly offered by Icfai University which has been recognised by UGC under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, and is authorized to issue Degrees. So, it does not require AICTE approval to offer the MBA Program.

Can an MBA student opt for dual specialization? If Yes, then How?
|
|
Yes. The students can opt for dual specializtion. The MBA Program has the option of electives in Marketing, HRM, Finance, Banking, Investments, Insurance, Accounting and IT & Systems. Students will have the flexibility in choosing more than one course from these elective streams.
Elective courses will be offered subject to a minimum number of students enrolling for a particular elective course and availability of faculty.

How many specializations are available?
|
|
We are offering specializations by way of 8 Elective Streams. The students can pursue the MBA by choosing electives in Marketing, HR, Operations, Insurance, Accounting, Investments, Banking and IT & Systems.

What is Summer Internship Program?
|
|
In addition to the academic inputs delivered at the classroom, the students are exposed to various industries to get hands on experience in subject related areas. The Summer Internship Program (SIP) helps the students to practically experience the management principles being put into practice in the market place. This enables students to obtain on-the-job experience and practical exposure in a corporate environment. This also helps the students for placement.

Do the students have to stay on campus while pursuing the MBA Program?
|
|
No. It is not mandatory for the students pursuing the MBA Program to stay on campus.

How is the performance of the student assessed in the MBA Program?
|
|
In the MBA Program, performance of the student is assessed through a continuous evaluation process throughout the period of study. Students are evaluated on the basis of class participation, home assignments, case analysis, seminars, projects, tests, etc.

What kind of placement support is the student provided?
|
|
The training and Placement wing at the University looks after the training and placement activities on a full time and continuous basis. Utmost importance is given to placement-related activities to ensure that all the students secure suitable placements.
The Placement Managers of the University are responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with reputed organizations, assessing requirements and organizing recruitments for students.
The University organizes training and counseling sessions for students to improve their knowledge, skills and attitude and thus develop exposure.
The institution expects the students to participate vigourously in the activities organized to reap maximum benefits.

What is the selection process for enrolling into the MBA Program?
|
|
The selection process into the MBA Program is based on merit. The application and interview are used as basis for assessment and due weightage is given to academic distinction, awards in sports/cultural events, debates, quizzes and other extra and co-curricular activities.

What are the eligibility criteria for enrolling into MBA Program?
|
|
Graduates in any discipline with 45% and above aggregate marks are eligible.
|

Is a student pursuing final year eligible for MBA Program?
|
|
Yes. Final year Degree students awaiting results can also apply for the program. However, they should submit their final year results by September 30, 2011.

B.Tech Program is offered in 4 branches. (Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering).

How many specializations are offered in each branch of B.Tech Program and how many do the students need to choose?
|
|
Specializations are offered after the fourth semester. In Fifth and Sixth Semesters, eight specialized discipline courses (SDC) are offered and the student has to study all the eight. In the Seventh semester electives are offered (list is given in the Prospectus). The student has to choose six electives from that list.
Elective courses will be offered subject to a minimum number of students enrolling for a particular elective course and availability of faculty.

What are the eligibility criteria for enrolling into the B.Tech Program?
|
|
The eligibility criteria for enrolling into the B.Tech Program is 50% aggregate in 12th class examination or its equivalent with pass in each of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English subjects.

|
Declaration of the list of selected candidates and dispatch of selection letters will be from June 22nd 2011 onwards.
